Reel Power Announces New Automatic Rewind Coiler

  • Automatically Coils, Packages and Distributes Plastic Pipe…
  • Faster Lead Times, Reduced Waste and Lower Overall Costs…

Oklahoma City, OK … Reel Power Industrial announced here today a new automatic rewind coiler that automatically coils, packages and distributes plastic pipe.   Called the “ARC Machine”, the new world class single head coiling machine will coil and apply stretch film packaging and transferring at 650 feet per minute.  Don Moreau, Senior VP, Sales & Marketing, made the announcement.

According to Mr. Moreau, the new ARC coiling machine allows manufacturers to coil plastic pipe continuously and directly from the extrusion line onto a large master reel.    The ARC coiler then transfers the plastic pipe at high speeds from a Master Reel to finished coils, individually packaged and ready for retail.

“This new capability results in faster lead times throughout the process, reduced waste on the production line, and lower overall manufacturing costs,“ said Mr. Moreau.

“We already have customer installations with up to 100% increased extrusion speed and 75% reduced labor costs with the new ARC Coiler.  These savings are created because off-line coiling separates the production of finished coils from the extrusion process, enabling higher extrusion speeds, less downtime and reduced waste and labor cost per coil,” Mr. Moreau said.   “These significant savings are particularly realistic when two or more extrusion lines producing similar sized plastic pipe are in service, or when on-line production of finished coils reduces the efficiency of extrusion line speed throughput,” he added.

Beginning in 1948, with a full line of automated plastic pipe coiling, spooling and reeling equipment, Reel Power Industrial is the only standard and custom design, reeling, spooling and coiling manufacturer in North America.   Focused on one-stop shopping, Reel Power delivers innovative, lowest total life-cost, flexible material handling solutions that both increase customer profitability and lower their business and safety risks.   Reel Power also offers risk assessment programs to develop a world-class safety strategy for their customers, and provides complete in-line process and automation solutions.
